Concept is first to be penned under leadership of Marc Lichte

Audi won’t be heading to the Los Angeles Auto Show next month empty handed. The German automaker plans to reveal its next generation of design at the west coast show in mid-November.

Expected to be called the A9 Concept, the concept is the first vehicle to be designed under new Head of Design Marc Lichte who was appointed to the most in February of this year.

While not much can be discerned from the teaser image, Audi’s concept does look like it’s been given some generous haunches in the form of fender flares. It also looks to have a fairly wide track in the rear versus the front.

Audi says the concept will usher in a new generation of design, both interior and exterior, that will trickle down to other models in the range and possibly give birth to a new flagship sedan above the A8.
