Los Angeles, California – Honda has debuted the all-new 2012 Honda CR-V at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The fourth generation introduces a new styling direction, greater fuel efficiency, and added features and functionality.
The CR-V is powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 185 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque, paired to a standard five-speed automatic transmission and an all-new Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control System. Eco Assist, a new feature for 2012, provides “green” visual cues to tell drivers when they are operating the vehicle in an efficient manner. A selectable ECON Mode alters the operating characteristics to support an efficient driving style.
New standard features include an easy fold-down 60/40 split rear seat, Bluetooth connectivity, and full-colour intelligent multi-information display. A first for Honda, every model includes an SMS text messaging function that can read texts from compatible cell phones over the audio system.
For the first time ever, all CR-Vs for the Canadian market will be built in Alliston, Ontario. Production will start in early 2012.
