Los Angeles, California – Infiniti has unveiled its all-new 2013 JX, which will join the company’s lineup next spring. The three-row model includes the premium features, performance and innovations for which Infiniti is famous.
“The all-new Infiniti JX embraces family customers in a way no luxury crossover has done before, recognizing their need to grow up but without growing old,” said Wendy Durward, director of Infiniti Canada. “Responsibility should come as a reward, rather than as a restriction on the things and activities you enjoyed as a single person or a couple.”
The JX uses a 3.5-litre V6 mated to a sport-tuned continuously variation transmission (CVT), producing 265 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. It is offered with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Fuel economy is expected to be rated at a real-world combination of 12.4 L/100 km.
Standard or available features include automatic bi-xenon headlamps, fog lights, LED taillights, power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding mirrors and panoramic sunroof.
A unique second-row entry function allows for a child seat to remain installed in the middle row while the third row is being accessed, without having to remove it first for third-row entry or exit. The second and third rows are also split-folding and recline for greater occupant comfort.
The new JX will also mark the first use of Infiniti’s new Backup Collision Intervention system, also introduced at the show. The system has the ability to detect vehicular cross traffic and other rearward objects when backing up. If necessary, it will automatically apply the brakes to help prevent a collision.
