If you want a Fiat 500 with some sting, the performance-oriented Abarth model is the one you want. Its 160-hp variant of the standard 500’s turbocharged engine is a lot of fun, but the car as a whole is an acquired taste. It’s also offered in just four colours: black, white, grey and red.
Offered in a single trim, the 500 Abarth gets unique fascia and sill cladding, high-back performance bucket seats, flat-bottom leather steering wheel, aluminum pedal covers, red brake calipers, fog lights, cruise control, black-accented head- and taillights, upgraded manual transmission, dual exhaust, twin intercoolers, performance-tuned suspension and brakes, Abarth-tuned torque transfer control, turbo boost gauge, 16-inch wheels, Alpine stereo with auxiliary input, Bluetooth, three-mode stability control, driver’s knee airbag, tire pressure monitor display, wide-angle driver’s side mirror and security alarm. The convertible adds a power-retractable soft top and rear park assist.
