I’m a little bit disappointed with my fuel consumption for the week, especially considering this vehicle is somewhat of a hybrid vehicle. Powered by a 2.4-litre engine, the Regal has similar power, yet a smaller overall size than that of the Toyota Camry I drove a few weeks ago. In the Toyota Camry, I averaged 8.5L/100km; I was impressed with that, but less so with the 8.9L/100km I managed in the Regal, considering the relative lack of interior space, extra complexity and cost of the hybrid system. The Regal certainly is sportier than the Camry, more luxurious and it does feel more solid as well, but most buyers are looking for space in this category and the eAssist compromises that too much.
