Zipcar and Vancouver Canucks launch Drive for Kids

Vancouver, British Columbia – The Canucks for Kids Fund and Zipcar car sharing have announced the launch of their Canucks Drive for Kids. Through the program, five Zipcars, wrapped in the new Canucks sweater design, will appear in Vancouver to raise funds for the campaign across the province. Fans will have the opportunity to drive the cars through Zipcar’s car sharing program.
“We are excited to be a partner with Zipcar through Canucks Drive for Kids Program,” says Chris Zimmerman, President and CEO, Vancouver Canucks. “Our organization views this program as a great opportunity to give back to our community by raising funds for children’s programs and improving environmental standards through car sharing.”
The cars will be available to Zipcar members year round; for every hour they are on the road, a portion of the proceeds will go to the fund. Over the last two decades, the Fund has granted over $23 million to charities in British Columbia.
The Canucks for Kids Fund Zipcars have been autographed by players such as Markus Naslund, Roberto Luongo and Willie Mitchell, and will be parked throughout downtown Vancouver, with two staying at General Motors Place. For more information, visit Zipcar.com.
