XM Satellite Radio adds new channels

Toronto, Ontario – XM Satellite Radio has announced it will add new music, news, talk and sports stations to its offerings, bringing its total to 120 channels. The new channels will begin broadcasting on April 1, 2007.

The new music channels will include Cinemagic movie hits; Hitlist, with “Top 40 and beyond”; Enlighten, with Southern gospel; The Groove, old-school R&B; and VOX, featuring opera selections. The news channels include Bloomberg Radio, Fox News Talk and Family Talk.

XM Canada will also feature college sports, with U.S. college football and basketball coverage, and two new Canadian channels, XM Scoreboard and Calendrier Sportif, which will complement XM’s NHL programming. The company’s NHL coverage will be exclusive to XM as of July 2007.
