Winnipeg government opens Kenaston Underpass
Winnipeg, Manitoba – The mayor of Winnipeg was among several dignitaries who officially opened the Kenaston Boulevard underpass in Winnipeg, which eliminates a level railroad crossing. The cost of the $48.1 million project is shared between the city of Winnipeg, the province of Manitoba and the government of Canada.
The construction of the underpass is expected to help reduce emissions caused by vehicles delayed at the rail crossing. The project also included the construction of Sterling Lyon Parkway and Lorimar Boulevard, and the upgrade of associated intersections.
