The car, donated by Toyota Canada, was extensively modified using Toyota Racing Development (TRD) parts. As no kit was available to put a supercharger on a Corolla, TRD and Toyota Canada crafted a custom throttle body adapter, wiring harness and engine control unit adapter to accommodate the change. The car has tested on a dyno at 162 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque, up from 130 hp and 125 lb-ft in the stock engine, and while it is less horsepower than the 170 hp Corolla XRS, it has considerably more torque than the 127 lb-ft of the XRS.
Other changes to the base Corolla CE include lowering springs, custom leather interior, $4,000 DVD audio system, TRD strut tower brace, and body aero kit. The auction is available at www.winnipegfreepress.com.
