Toronto, Ontario – Six finalists have been named in Toyota’s #1 Fan contest for a chance to win a new vehicle.
Toyota asked Canadians “Are you Toyota’s #1 fan?” to launch its social media campaign, with thousands of participants visiting Toyota Canada’s new Facebook page and enhanced Twitter feed to share their stories.
Contestants posted a one-minute video, or five photos and a story, and out of 1,300 eligible entries, six have come down to the wire. Voting is now on to help determine the grand prize winner, who will receive the Toyota vehicle of his or her choice, up to a $50,000 value. The finalists were selected based on the relevance of their stories to the theme of Toyota’s #1 Fan and the number of views their entries received.
The six finalists are René Boulet of Montreal; Isaac Elliott-Fisher of Guelph, Ontario; Nathan Hayashi of Calgary; Michel Levesque of New Denmark, New Brunswick; Jody McMurray of Cochrane, Alberta; and Judy Nadeau of Burlington, Ontario.
The videos can be viewed at Toyota. Viewers can vote for a favourite as often as once per day, with voting closing on May 20. The grand prize winner, and secondary winners of Panasonic HD camcorders, will be announced on June 1, 2011. In addition, anyone who votes is eligible to win a weekly prize of a $100 gasoline card.
