Toronto, Ontario – Volvo owners are welcome to attend the Canadian Volvo Club’s 31st annual Family Fun Day, which will be held Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Ilderton, near London, Ontario. The show will host two special vehicles and their owners this year.

Garry Sowerby of Halifax will bring the Volvo 245DL, known as “Red Cloud,” with which he circumnavigated the globe with his friend Ken Langley in 74 days, one hour and 11 minutes, earning them a Guinness Record in 1980. Sowerby had not started the car in five years but realized that the 30th anniversary of the trip was coming up and he reported that “she fired up on the first crank.”

Also in attendance will be Irv Gordon of East Patchogue, New York, who purchased his new Volvo P1800 in June 1966 and has since put more than 2.9 million miles on it.

The show will be held at 22679 Wonderland Road North in Ilderton. Entry is $10 per car and non-members are welcome. For more information, visit Canadian Volvo Club.
