Toronto, Ontario – Volvo Cars of Canada has announced that the completely redesigned 2008 V70 wagon will have a starting price of $41,995. The new model, which is longer, wider, taller and with more interior room than its predecessor, will arrive in showrooms in February, 2008.
The V70 will use a 3.2-litre inline six-cylinder engine, delivering 235 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels. A six-speed automatic transmission with Geartronic manual mode is standard. Both the engine and transmission are new to the V70.
Standard features include side and curtain airbags, fading brake support and hydraulic brake assist, dual-zone automatic climate control, six-speaker audio system, 40/20/40 folding rear seats, heated front seats and a cargo area with multiple storage areas, tie-downs and moveable hooks.
The V70 will also be available with dual-stage integrated booster cushions in both outboard rear seats, a feature unique to Volvo. The booster cushion can be set at two heights, allowing children of different sizes to see out of the windows and ensure the child is in the best position to benefit from the seatbelt in the event of a collision. The feature is a $500 stand-alone option or can be included in the optional Luxury Package.
