Volkswagen’s value-priced ‘City’ models go on sale October 14th

Ajax, Ontario – Volkswagen has announced its new “City” brand, exclusive to the Canadian market, which will appear on the 2007 City Golf and 2007 City Jetta. The new trim lines are an entry-level on the two models.
“This strategy will enable us to compete very effectively in the popular and growing subcompact segment in Canada,” said John White, Executive Vice-President of Volkswagen Canada. “These cars will appeal to a new category of buyers who, otherwise, might not have considered the Volkswagen brand.”
The new models go on sale October 14, with the City Golf priced at $14,900 and the City Jetta at $16,700. Special features include 15-inch wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, CD/MP3 player, variable intermittent front wipers, height-adjustable driver’s seat, tilt and telescopic wheel, and 60/40 folding rear seat. The City Jetta also adds standard power locks with remote locking, anti-theft system, chrome exterior appliqu
