It is the most differentiated Jetta GLI model ever made by Volkswagen, the company said.

The Jetta GLI uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, generating 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, with a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. It is significantly lighter than the previous Jetta GLI and “offers power and performance coupled with German sensibilities,” the company said.

Additional performance features include a track-tuned four-way independent performance suspension, available DSG automatic gearbox with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, XDS cross-differential system that helps prevent inside wheel spin during cornering, and four-wheel disc brakes with floating red calipers.
