Volkswagen unveils 2008 Jetta Wagon and Touareg 2 at Vancouver Auto Show

Ajax, Ontario – On Friday, Volkswagen debuted the all-new 2008 Jetta Wagon and the “retouched” 2008 Touareg for the first time in North American at the 2007 Vancouver Auto Show.
The 2008 Jetta wagon, based on the current fifth-generation Jetta, features a 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine, revised to develop 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. It can be mated to a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission; it will arrive in Canada in September, starting at $24,975.
The 2008 Touareg 2 features a new face that incorporates the corporate “shield” grille, along with new headlights, taillights and updated interior. The Touareg 2 will be available in June, starting at $49,975.
The company also presented the Canadian premiere of its new Triple-White New Beetle Convertible, featuring a “Campanella” white exterior with special white leatherette seats and matching convertible top cover. The special edition includes exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels, Sirius Satellite Radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob; a limited production of 100 units for Canada will arrive in April, at $31,975.
