Volkswagen to premiere Passat BlueMotion in Geneva

Wolfsburg, Germany – Volkswagen has announced that it will premiere the new Passat BlueMotion diesel sedan at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The new sedan consumes only 5.1 L/100 km and has a CO2 emission level of 136 g/km.

Volkswagen’s first BlueMotion model was the Polo, introduced in the summer of 2006; its production figures have been tripled due to high demand throughout Europe. The company estimates that the Passat BlueMotion, like the Polo, will achieve up to 1,350 km per tank, at an average of 68 Euro in fuel costs per month; with an annual average driving distance of 15,000 km, a driver will only need to refuel eleven times a year.
