Volkswagen produces 14-millionth Passat
Wolfsburg, Germany – Volkswagen’s Emden, Germany plant has produced the 14-millionth Passat worldwide; it is currently the most successful vehicle in its class in Germany. The milestone vehicle is a silver Passat Variant Highline 4Motion model.
Worldwide, Volkswagen currently produces 2,900 Passats each day, from plants in Emden, Zwickau/Mosel in Germany, Shanghai, China, and Anchieta in Brazil. Last year, the company delivered 600,000 of them around the world. In Europe, the Passat’s main markets are in Germany, U.K., France, Spain and Italy; outside Europe, key markets are Asia and the U.S.
The Emden plant is the only one producing the Passat Variant; it also produces a limousine version. Some 216,400 vehicles were built there in 2005.
