Volkswagen offers call assistance for the deaf

Wolfsburg, Germany – Beginning in October, the deaf and other customers with hearing
and speech difficulties can contact the Volkswagen emergency call centre in Germany
directly via text message or fax. The hard of hearing normally need the assistance
of another person to use conventional emergency services when they have breakdowns
or accidents. Around 200,000 people in Germany are deaf, hard of hearing or have
hearing impairments that make them unable to make telephone calls.
