Volkswagen donates to American Red Cross to help wildfire relief
San Diego, California – Volkswagen of California has announced it will donate US$25,000 to the American Red Cross to assist those affected by wildfires in California, and will help affected customers with financial assistance and the complimentary replacement of their vehicles’ HEPA smoke and pollen filters.
For customers severely affected, Volkswagen will defer lease payments and extend loan payments for up to 90 days.
“We at Volkswagen are sending our thoughts and prayers to those affected by the recent devastating southern California wildfires,” said Steve Mears, director, Western Region. “We believe that when you buy a Volkswagen you get a little more than just a car, you get something extra. We provide unexpected things in times of need as a way of reinforcing that something extra.”
