Volkswagen completes Tiguan testing in Namibia

Wolfsburg, Germany – Volkswagen has announced it will complete the development phase of its new Tiguan compact SUV with a final extreme test in Namibia. The African test will focus on the Tiguan’s electronic components and chassis.
The new SUV will contain a completely new-generation radio and navigation system, developed in cooperation with local Volkswagen operations in Europe, Asia and North America.
The new electronic systems will also use a network of assistance systems, called “Off-Road Mode”, which will activate numerous safety features to support the driver in a multitude of situations.
The Tiguan will be available in different markets with up to five gasoline and diesel engines, and with two front ends for different degrees of off-road ability.
