After an incident on a remote stretch of the Trans-Labrador highway, emergency officials call in a water bomber to douse the flames.
If you’ve never been to Labrador, the highway there is very different from any other in the country, except for maybe other northern locales. Incredibly remote, the highway, which is composed mainly of gravel surfaces, is the main artery which runs through central Labrador. It stretches from the eastern coast all the way down to Baie Comeau, through Labrador City.
The situation in the video above puts an exclamation point on the level of remoteness. Due to the long amount of time it would take for emergency vehicles to reach the incident involving a transfer truck, officials call in a water bomber to extinguish the flames from above.
