Juho Hänninen wins Colin’s Crest Award with 36 metre jump

While we usually keep news items fairly serious, I think we can all agree it’s enjoyable to watch two minutes of rally cars jumping lengths that would clear most municipal pools.

At Rally Sweden, Colin’s Crest, named in memoriam for the late Colin McRae, plays host to a jump distance award during the weekend’s festivities. While it is not necessarily a goal for the drivers to go for long distances, as the jump does happen during one of the stages, it sure is a spectacle for one to enjoy.

This year, the longest jump went to Juho Hänninen with a jump distance of 36 metres. However, during a later stage also including Colin’s Crest, Sébastien Ogier launched his car a distance of 41 metres.
