Electric charging network company to purchase VIA electric work vehicles for Canadian customers

VIA Motors, producers of re-engineered General Motors trucks, SUVs, and vans, has agreed to sell a number of electric fleet vehicles to Sun Country Highway who will resell the vehicles on the Canadian market. The deal is worth $80 million and Sun Country Highway has already put down an initial deposit of $8 for the first 100 units.

Sun Country Highway currently has a coast-to-coast network of over 1000 charging stations. This expansion of Sun Country’s business also includes installing chargers in some 100 Best Western locations. Best Western will also be using electric passenger shuttles as part of the deal. Those shuttles will be produced by VIA Motors.

“VIA is pleased to supply Sun Country and Best Western with the world’s cleanest most economical shuttle van,” VIA Motors chief executive John Weber said.
