VIA Edmonton station restricted during Grand Prix weekend

Edmonton, Alberta – VIA Rail Canada is advising that public access to its Edmonton station, located at 121st Street, will be restricted to travellers and those meeting trains, between July 21 and July 23. The restriction is due to the Grand Prix race weekend.

The city of Edmonton will be shutting down 121st Street northbound from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. Southbound 121st Street will remain open, but restricted to minimum use. Yellow Head Highway (Highway No 16) can be used to access 121st Street from the north. VIA Rail services will not be affected by the race, and trains between Vancouver and Toronto will operate as scheduled. For more information, contact VIA at 1-888-VIA-RAIL.
