Detroit, Michigan – Saab Automobile USA has announced that it will offer a free new Saab to any U.S. customer who covers one million miles (1,609,344 km) or more in a Saab that he or she originally purchased new.

The company made the announcement after Peter Gilbert of Wisconsin recently reached the milestone in a 1989 Saab 900 SPG, still with its original engine and turbocharger, at this year’s North American Saab Owners Convention in Lake George, New York. Gilbert will receive a brand-new Saab 9-5 Aero as a replacement in early 2007 at the Saab Aero Academy in Georgia; Saab offers the two-day enhanced driving course at no cost to every U.S. customer who buys a new 9-3 or 9-5 Aero.
