U.S. Hyundai recall does not affect Canadian cars
Markham, Ontario – On September 15, Hyundai Motor America announced that it will be recalling 240,000 Elantra sedans in the U.S. because the computer that operates the airbag system could confuse a child seat for an adult in the front passenger seat. Hyundai Canada confirms that the recall does not apply to Canadian vehicles.
Hyundai reports that vehicles built for the Canadian market use a different airbag/computer system and Canadian vehicles are not affected by the recall.
