Two Canadian teams start in World Solar Challenge

Darwin, Australia – Two Canadian teams are among a total of 30 starters in the World Solar Challenge, a 3,000 km rally across the Australian continent in vehicles that use nothing more than solar energy for power. Teams from the University of Calgary and Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario started at the 11th and 18th positions, respectively, at the start of the event on September 25th. It is expected that, with perfect weather, the first teams should arrive in Adelaide within four days. Updates, photographs and diaries can be viewed at www.wsc.org.au/2005.
