Transport Canada issues latest recalls
Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Ford and Chrysler vehicles.
2001-2004 Ford Escape
Vehicles affected: 36,634
On certain vehicles, the electrical wiring connector to the anti-lock brake (ABS) module may have been manufactured incorrectly. Over time, contaminants can enter the electrical connector interface and cause corrosion of the terminals. This could cause the ABS warning indicator to illuminate, or cause an open fuse or, in some instances, smoking, melting or burning of the electrical connector. ABS function may be lost. Dealers will inspect and, if required, repair the wiring connector.
2005-2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser
Vehicles affected: 2,900
On certain vehicles, the rear quarter glass attaching fasteners may pull through their mounts and allow the glass to separate from the vehicle. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear quarter glass.
