Transport Canada issues latest recalls

Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Hyundai vehicles.

2005-2007 Hyundai Tucson – Vehicles affected: 27,816

On certain vehicles, a small-stature adult driver not wearing a seatbelt may have an insufficient margin of compliance with the driver airbag if involved in a frontal or near frontal crash, as measured by the test dummy in the U.S. Government fifth percentile female out-of-position test. Canadian regulations in this area differ from those in the U.S., and thus, Canadian vehicles are not out of compliance. However, in the interest of safety, Hyundai Auto Canada is conducting the campaign to improve the margin of compliance. Dealers will replace the driver’s airbag module.
