Transport Canada issues latest recalls
Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Volvo, Saab, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles.
2003-2006 Volvo XC90
Vehicles affected: 7,908
On certain vehicles, the windshield wiper pivot splines may be damaged, due to failure to remove snow from the windshield. This would result in loss of wiper operation. Dealers will replace the wiper arms and retaining nuts.
2005-2006 Volvo S40
2005-2006 Volvo V50
Vehicles affected: 1,290
On certain vehicles, the fuel line near the turbo/exhaust manifold may leak due to excessive heat; this may result in a fire. Dealers will replace the fuel line with a Teflon line.
2001 Saab 9-3 Convertible
2001 Saab 9-3 Viggen
Vehicles affected: 808
On certain vehicles, the fuel pump retaining tabs holding the fuel lines were damaged during production. Over time, this could cause the lines to loosen from the pump, resulting in fuel leakage. Dealers will install a bracket that will secure the fuel lines to the pump, even if the plastic retaining tabs should break.
2004-2006 Chevrolet Colorado
2004-2006 GMC Canyon
Vehicles affected: 28,395
On certain vehicles, the brake lights may fail to illuminate or stay illuminated at all times; in addition, the cruise control will be inoperative. Dealers will replace the stoplight switch.
