Transport Canada issues latest recalls
Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has released its latest list of recalls, which may affect certain Chevrolet, Pontiac, Suzuki, BMW and Kia vehicles.
2004-2005 Chevrolet Aveo
2004-2005 Pontiac Wave
2004-2005 Suzuki Swift+
GM vehicles affected: 36,678
Suzuki vehicles affected: 5,420
Certain vehicles may experience throttle body icing when temperatures are near or below minus 20 degrees Celsius, which could cause the throttle to stick open or freeze. Dealers will install new parts that integrate with the coolant system to heat the lines and avoid freezing.
2005 BMW X5
Vehicles affected: 30
On certain vehicles, the brake line support bracket within the left front wheel well may not be spot-welded to specification and could loosen. This could cause the brake hose to rub or chafe against the wheel well and cause a loss of brake fluid. Dealers will secure the bracket with rivets.
2003 Kia Sorento
Vehicles affected: 738
Certain vehicles may experience a fuel leak from the main fuel tube and/or the return tube due to insufficient clearance with the vehicle frame. Dealers will replace the fuel tubes.
