Transport Canada issues latest recalls
Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has released recalls that may affect some Kia and Honda vehicles.
2005 Kia Sportage
Vehicles affected: 617
On certain vehicles, an undersized parking brake ratchet pawl could wear prematurely, resulting in unexpected parking brake failure. Dealers will replace the parking brake engagement assembly.
2003-2005 Kia Sedona
Vehicles affected: 9,496
On certain vehicles, water may enter between a protective rubber sleeve and the throttle cable toward the rear portion of the cable. The water could freeze, causing the throttle to stick and the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly. Dealers will modify the throttle cable rubber sleeve.
2005 Honda Odyssey
Vehicles involved: 5,953
On certain vehicles, the front impact sensors were insufficiently sealed during manufacturing. Over time, salt and water may intrude and cause corrosion, which could result in a short circuit. If one or both sensors fail, the SRS indicator will illuminate, and there could be a delay in or loss of frontal airbag deployment. Dealers will replace both front crash sensors.
