Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Ford, Dodge, Volvo, Lexus, Audi, Chrysler, Buick, Chevrolet, Honda and Maserati vehicles, and some Michelin tires.

2002 Ford Excursion
2005 Ford F250 Super Duty
2004-2007 Ford F350 Super Duty
2007-2011 Ford Ranger
Vehicles affected: 5815
On certain 2011 Ranger trucks, the multi-function switch installed during vehicle assembly could malfunction and fail. Additionally, other models may have received the affected switch as a replacement part during service and are included in the campaign. Failure of the switch could result in a loss of turn signal, tail lamp, hazard warning signal flasher and/or stop lamp function. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the multi-function switch.

2007 Ford Five Hundred
Vehicles affected: 24
On certain vehicles, the fuel filler neck may not have been correctly welded to the fuel tank during the manufacturing process. The weld may not provide the expected strength and could result in a fuel leak in the event of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel tank.

2003-2010 Dodge Ram
2010-2011 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500
Vehicles affected: 49,800
On certain 2008-2011 Ram 2500 and 3500 4×4, Ram 3500 cab chassis 4×2 and 4×4, and 2008 Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4×4 vehicles, the left outer tie rod ball stud could fracture. Other 2003-2008 Ram vehicles may have received the affected tie rod as a replacement part during service and are included in the campaign. Although this condition tends to occur when making a tight turn during low-speed parking-lot-type driving, tie rod failure could result in a loss of directional stability. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the left outer tie rod end.

2010-2011 Michelin LTX AT2 LT265/70R17
Units affected: 750
On certain tires, the tire identification number displayed on the intended outboard sidewall is incorrect. Two symbols that identify the manufacturer and the two symbols that identify the tire size have been swapped in location with the load index/speed symbol information. This technical non-compliance is deemed to be non-safety-related and no corrective recall action is required.

2007 Volvo S80
Vehicles affected: 299
On certain vehicles, the power steering reservoir return hose may have been incorrectly routed and pinched or kinked during vehicle assembly. This could increase pressure in the power steering system, which could cause the return hose to burst. Dealers will inspect the reservoir return hose and, if necessary, replace and position it. If the hose is routed incorrectly, the steering gear return hose and the power steering fluid reservoir will also be replaced.

2011 Lexus RX350
Vehicles affected: 493
On certain vehicles equipped with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), the calibration for the hydraulic control valves was incorrectly written and programmed into the brake actuator electronic control unit. As such, the right front wheel could lock during actuation of the anti-lock brakes or vehicle stability control system. Dealers will replace the brake actuator with an updated version.

2011-2012 Audi R8 Spyder
Vehicles affected: 100
On certain vehicles, the fuel supply line may contact and rub against the heat shield in the engine compartment, which could cause a fuel leak. Dealers will inspect the fuel line for damage and replace it if necessary. Dealers will also inspect and, as needed, adjust the position of the fuel line and heat shield in order to ensure correct clearance between the two.

1997-2004 Ford F-150
1997-1999 Ford F250
2002-2003 Lincoln Blackwood
Vehicles affected: 126,000
On certain vehicles that were originally sold in or are currently operated in areas of heavy road salt usage during the winter months, the fuel tank straps could corrode and fail, allowing the fuel tank to contact the ground. Dealers will install fuel tank straps with improved corrosion protection.

2008 Chrysler Town & Country
2008 Dodge Grand Caravan
Vehicles affected: 50,250
Certain vehicles may experience water leaking as a result of condensate from the heater ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) drain grommet onto the occupant restraint control module. This could lead to illumination of the airbag warning lamp and could cause inadvertent airbag deployment. Dealers will replace the occupant restraint control module. This campaign follows recall 2010437 where dealers replaced the HVAC drain grommet to correct the cause of the condensate leakage.

2012 Buick LaCrosse
Vehicles affected: 216
On certain vehicles, the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system may have been incorrectly calibrated during the manufacturing process. As a result, the system may not properly detect a malfunctioning sensor, and the warning lamp may not illuminate to indicate that the system is not operating. Failure to properly diagnose a malfunctioning sensor may cause the electronic control system to falsely activate, resulting in sudden changes in vehicle handling and deceleration. Dealers will reprogram the electronic brake control module.

2012 Chevrolet Impala
Vehicles affected: 1,370
On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.6-litre engine, the high-pressure upper power steering hose may have been misrouted and could touch the catalytic converter. With the engine on, heat from the catalytic converter may melt the power steering hose. Dealers will ensure that the hose is routed correctly. If it is not, the hose will be replaced. Regardless of routing, dealers will also install a protective sleeve around both power steering hoses on all vehicles to prevent abrasion of the hoses.

2005-2010 Honda Accord
2007-2010 Honda CR-V
2005-2008 Honda Element
Vehicles affected: 135,142
On certain vehicles, the secondary shaft bearing in the automatic transmission may fail. This could cause abnormal noise, the malfunction indicator lamp to turn on, and allow contact between the transmission idle gear and an electronic sensor housing within the transmission, resulting in a short circuit that causes the engine to stall. Broken pieces could also become lodged in the parking pawl, resulting in the vehicle rolling after the driver has placed the gear selector in the Park position. Dealers will update the automatic transmission control module software.

2009 Maserati GranTurismo
2009 Maserati Quattroporte
Vehicles affected: 38
On certain vehicles, the rear suspension tie rods for alignment toe adjustment may fatigue and fail, resulting in a loss of vehicle control. Dealers will replace both rear suspension tie rods and perform a wheel alignment.
