Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada is celebrating its 75th year as a department of the Government of Canada.
“One of the most significant changes over the last 75 has seen Transport Canada transition from the role of operator, to leader and policy maker,” said Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. “Transport Canada works to promote a transportation system that is responsive to Canada’s needs by ensuring safety, security, efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness across modes. We have faced, and will continue to face this challenge head-on.”
Milestones in its history can be found on its website at Transport Canada.
