Toyota Yaris will premiere in Barrie, Ontario
Toronto, Ontario – Following the world debut of the all-new Toyota Yaris at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, Toyota has announced that the hatchback will be premiered in Canada at the Georgian College Auto Show from September 16 to 18 in Barrie, Ontario.
Named 2000 Car of the Year when it was introduced in Europe, the best-selling Yaris will replace the Echo Hatchback. Created in Toyota’s European design studio, it will be the first vehicle sold in Canada to be created using Toyota’s “Vibrant Clarity” design principles. It features minimal front overhang, a wide stance, flowing sidelines, streamlined bumpers and S-shaped doors that reflect light.
The Yaris will seat five passengers and includes a tilt steering wheel, 12 storage spaces within the cabin, generous rear cargo space and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine that makes 106 hp. It will be sold in three- and five-door hatchback configuration, in three trim levels. Pricing will be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch.
