Toyota to offer Tundra “Terminator 3” Special Edition
Toronto, Ontario – When “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” arrives in theatres on July 2nd, the futuristic cyborg will be chasing bad guys in a Toyota Tundra. In an interesting marketing move, Toyota Canada will sell 200 Tundra Terminator 3 Special Edition vehicles. The T3 Special Edition is recognizable by its monochrome black exterior treatment, unique grille with offset “T3″ identification, Borla dual exhaust system, metal dash accents, special Teminator 3 decals plus 17” titanium painted alloy wheels. The limited edition Terminator 3 will carry a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price of $40,800.
“The exclusivity of the Tundra Terminator 3 Special Edition comes from its limited production, not its price,” said Tony Wearing, Group Vice President of TCI. “Virtually any truck buyer can afford to own the fantasy. Even better, they’re not just getting a vanity vehicle. Under the fantastic image is a rugged, hard-working truck that gets the job done.”
Based on the Toyota Tundra V8 4X4 Access Cab, the Terminator 3 Special Edition gets its power from Toyota’s 4.7 litre V8 engine – the first 32-valve, double overhead camshaft V8 ever offered in a full size pickup. It produces 245 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 315 lb/ft of torque at 3,400 rpm. For the Tundra T3 Special Edition, the Borla dual exhaust adds 10 horsepower and 10 lb/ft of torque. The T3 is also equipped with Toyota’s Automatic Disconnecting Differential (A.D.D.) for all the benefits of convenient, shift-on-the-fly part-time 4WD.
Inside, the Tundra Terminator 3 Special Edition is equipped with a 6-speaker audio system with AM/FM and 6-disc in-dash CD changer, air conditioning, full carpeting and cruise control.
