Toyota to break ground on motor skills clinic

Toronto, Ontario – Toyota Canada Inc. and Providence Healthcare will break ground this week on the Toyota Canada Motor Skills Clinic in Toronto. The unique and innovative service will play an integral role in helping patients get back to the activities of daily living. The clinic, made possible through a $300,000 donation from Toyota Canada Inc., will open in October 2006.

The clinic will help Providence Hospital rehabilitation patients who have had a hip or knee replacement, lower limb amputation or stroke to work with physiotherapists or occupational therapists to learn how to safely manoeuvre in and out of a vehicle from a variety of surfaces such as a street curb or grass.
