Toyota supplier to build plant in Ontario
Norfolk County, Ontario – Toyotetsu Canada Inc., a supplier of stamped and assembled parts to Toyota, has announced plans to construct its first Canadian automotive parts plant near Simcoe, Ontario.
Toyotetsu will supply parts to Toyota Motor Manufacturing’s existing plant in Cambridge, Ontario and a future plant in nearby Woodstock. The company will build an 18,580 square metre facility on 16 hectares of land, and will employ approximately 250 workers during the start-up year. The initial investment will be approximately $50 million, with significant growth and expansion expected within the first five years of operation. The site, in Norfolk County, was selected over 40 other possible sites in Ontario.
