Blue Springs, Mississippi – Toyota has begun production of the Corolla at its new plant near Tupelo, Mississippi. The new facility represents a US$800 million investment.

The plant is Toyota’s fourteenth in North America and has the annual capacity to produce 150,000 vehicles and employ nearly 2,000 people.

Engines for the plant are being supplied by Toyota’s facility in Buffalo, West Virginia, which gets its heads and blocks from Toyota’s Bodine Aluminum casting plants in Missouri and Tennessee.
