Toyota Canada sponsors national photo contest

Vancouver, British Columbia – Toyota Canada President Ken Tomikawa announced a ‘Show Us Your Canada’ national photography competition. The contest will highlight Canada’s natural and cultural diversity and will be an opportunity for Canadians at home to participate in Canada’s activities at the 2005 World Exposition in Aichi, Japan. Mr. Tomikawa announced the contest at a launch event to unveil plans for Canada’s participation in Expo 2005.

Thirteen contest winners, one from each province and territory, will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Expo 2005, where the winning pictures will be displayed in the Canada Pavilion. In addition, the winning photographs will be included in a commemorative book that the Government of Canada will present to dignitaries visiting the Canada Pavilion and the Canadian embassy in Tokyo. An additional prize will be available to Toyota owners.

The ‘Show Us Your Canada’ photo competition will run from March 1 to August 31, 2004. Photos – one per month per individual, to a maximum of five – can be submitted. The first round of judging will select 500 photographs. A panel of judges will then determine the winning images. Winners will be announced on October 9, 2004.
