Torrance, California – The redesigned 2007 Toyota Camry has won the coveted Motor Trend “Car of the Year” award, the third time in the last four years that Toyota has won one of the magazine’s top prizes. The Tacoma was named Truck of the Year in 2005, while the Prius won Car of the Year in 2004.
Currently in its sixth generation, the Camry was selected ahead of 27 contenders in various segments; eligibility was based on several factors including design, value, innovation, performance, safety, technical advancement, quality and market significance. Each vehicle was subjected to numerous tests, including skid pad ratings, acceleration and quarter-mile track times, and fuel economy.
