Toyota boosts capacity for full-size pickup
San Antonio, Texas – A US$50 million investment into Toyota’s new San Antonio, Texas truck assembly plant will increase production capacity by 50,000 units, to 200,000 vehicles per year.
The company has invested a total of US$850 million into Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX); the plant is scheduled to begin production of the Tundra full-size pickup by the end of 2006. The capacity increase will allow the company to respond quickly should demand for the truck continue to grow.
