Toronto, Ontario – Revised styling is the major change to the 2004 Lancer LS unveiled today at the Canadian International Auto Show. Mitsubishi also announced a new performance variant, the Lancer Ralliart. Currently, the Lancer is currently available in three trim lines, ES, LS, and OZ-Rally edition.
The 2004 Lancer’s new look provides a more expressive appearance. The chiseled, extended split-grille helps alter the proportion and silhouette of the 2004 Lancer, and provides a view into Mitsubishi Motors’ global design direction.
The new 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart offers improved acceleration and sharper handling in an affordable package. This front-wheel-drive, four-door Lancer sedan has been treated to drivetrain, suspension and styling modifications designed to appeal to enthusiast drivers. The Ralliart is equipped with a larger, more powerful, 2.4-litre motor and a stiffer set of coil springs and shocks.
The Ralliart’s front end has a sporty split-grille arrangement, as well as a new, sculpted halogen lamp arrangement. Clear taillight lenses and a unique aerodynamic package, which includes a new rear wing, help complete the Lancer Ralliart’s sportier appearance.
Mitsubishi Motors also announced that Team Mitsubishi Motorsports America will compete in the Canadian Rally Championship event to be held March 1 and 2 in Quebec City. In their pursuit of outright victory in the event, Team Mitsubishi Motorsports America will compete with two SCCA
ProRally, Open Class-spec, all-wheel-drive Lancer Evolution sedans that produce in excess of 400 horsepower.
