Toronto, Ontario – On Tuesday, November 11, GO Transit in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario will provide free, all-day travel on GO Transit for war veterans and a companion.

Veterans are asked to identify themselves by wearing their medals, beret, blazer, uniform, or other similar belongings while travelling. Immediate family members of deceased veterans may also ride for free that day; GO requests that relatives carry something to identify their relationship to the late veteran, such as service papers or an identification card.

The Royal Canadian Legion will be selling poppies until November 11 at GO stations at Mimico, Exhibition, Danforth, Scarborough, Eglinton, Guildwood, Rouge Hill, Dixie, Weston, Etobicoke North, Old Cummer and Agincourt.

For specific information about train or bus times, call 416-869-3200, or 1-888-GET ON GO (438-6646), or visit GO Transit.
