Toronto-area college offers first automobile design program

Toronto, Ontario – Humber College in Ontario will be the first college in Canada to offer an industry-supported and Ministry-approved Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design with a special automobile design and styling emphasis.

The Bachelor of Applied Technology Degree, which begins in September, is a fully accredited four-year program with all the components of an education in Industrial Design with studio studies in current automobile design practice.

Humber is the only program of its kind in Canada, and program fees will be lower than in comparable U.S. automotive design schools. Humber College will engage faculty with experience from leading automotive design centres in a contemporary facility to ensure that graduates are well qualified to enter the field.

The College’s location in the greater Toronto area of Ontario, Canada gives the program easy access to both manufacturing and assembly plants and Detroit, Michigan.
