Toronto, Ontario – Scion’s inaugural Canadian Tuner Challenge has named the three finalist teams that will modify vehicles for a chance to display at the Specialty Equipment Market Show (SEMA) in Las Vegas this November.

Three regional teams were selected from the initial entries and will move into the next phase of the contest. Over the next few months, each of the teams will modify a 2011 Scion vehicle.

The chosen teams have each received a vehicle, along with $10,000 and unlimited access to Scion-authorized accessories and the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) catalogue for modifications. They have three months to build the cars and will then show them off at Importfest, first in Toronto on August 27 and then in Montreal on October 1, where the team with the best modified vehicle, as chosen by a panel of judges, will be crowned the champion.

The winning car will be displayed at SEMA and the winning team will take home $5,000.

The finalists are SR Auto Group from Richmond, B.C., who will customize a Scion xB; Camo Customs of Lachine, Quebec, who will modify a Scion xD; and Team TDS from Toronto, Ontario, who will work with a Scion tC.
