TELUS and Samsung introduce cell phone with turn-by-turn navigation feature
Vancouver, British Columbia – TELUS and Samsung Electronics have announced the exclusive Canadian availability of the Samsung u510, a cell phone that includes an available system similar to in-car navigation systems in select areas.
In addition to TELUS Mobile Music full-track music downloads, the u510 features TELUS Navigator; clients throughout the TELUS 1X network in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe region can access real-time audio and visual turn-by-turn directions. Navigator allows clients to use their handset to plan the route ahead, search for destinations from over 1.5 million points of interest, and get results according to their preferred mode of travel and route. If they miss a turn, the service will automatically reroute. Maps are updated frequently and can provide the location of restaurants and gas stations.
The Samsung u510 is now available at TELUS retail locations from $99.99 to $279.99, depending on promotions and contracts.
