Team embarks on 12,000 km Canadian trip in new Land Rover Freelander

Toronto, Ontario – At Noon today, the first drivers in a relay team of professional vehicle testers will begin a 12 day, 12,000 km voyage across Canada. The team will embark from the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.

The Freelander TransCanada Adventure Team will include professional drivers from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, World of Wheels and Le Monde de l’Auto magazines, and Land Rover Canada staff.

They will visit 19 cities and eight provinces, and will return for the final day of the show on February 24th. Along the TransCanada Highway, the team will stop at Land Rover dealers to collect Canadian memorabilia symbolic of each city to be included in a time capsule that will be auctioned off on eBay.ca at the end of the tour. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Endangered Species Fund of Canada.

Today’s Noon departure will take place from Internal Street, located between the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the parking garage on Simcoe Street.
