Normal, Illinois – Organizers have announced the Survivor Collector Car Show, which will be presented by Bloomington Gold on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in St. Charles, Illinois. The show, now in its second year, is open only to unrestored vehicles.

“As America’s only car show devoted exclusively to unrestored original collector cars of all makes and models, the Survivor Collector Car Show is a great venue to see original cars that have escaped the wear and tear, restoration and modifications typical of most collector cars over 20 years old,” said CEO David Burroughs.

The show offers three registration options for car owners, including a new recognition area with awards for outstanding preservation, an extended display area for those who wish to show their cars but not participate in awards, and a buy/sell area. To qualify for the sale area, a vehicle must be over 20 years old, more than 50 per cent unrestored, and in good condition.

Among the awards offered at the show will be the ZZenith, which organizers say may become the most prestigious preservation award in the collector car hobby.

“The Survivor Certification program and events allow vehicles to serve not only as an incredible research library for restorers to conduct more accurate restorations, but it also provides an incentive to think twice before improving preserved cars,” Burroughs said.
