Mississauga, Ontario – Subaru has renewed its sponsorship with the Canada Winter Games and will return as the official automotive sponsor for the competition, which will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia from February 11 to 27.

Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the games are a key event in the development of Canada’s young athletes, producing the next generation of national, international and Olympic champions. Subaru last sponsored the Canada Winter Games in 2007 in Whitehorse, Yukon.

“Subaru is passionate about Canada’s athlete community and is proud to once again be supporting them in their quest for gold at the Canada Winter Games,” said Ted Lalka, vice-president of product planning and marketing for Subaru Canada. “Subaru is looking forward to seeing what Canada’s top athletic talent brings to the competitive table not only this year, but in the many years to come.”

Subaru has provided the Winter Games staff with a fleet of twelve vehicles, and the Canada Games Oval, host to long-track speed skating events, will be home to two Subaru tents where spectators can get hot apple cider, access free Internet and participate in a number of interactive activities, including a virtual Subaru WRX STI racing game.
